For basketball fans, NBA 2K17 is definitely a game that they don't want to miss. Since the release of NBA 2K17, gamers are constantly on a hunt for NBA 2K17 Guide in order to up their game. However, regardless of its popularity (and success, yes), it still suffers from bugs and/or issues -- one of which is the so-called Shot Meter glitch. Fortunately, this will be fixed thanks to an upcoming update.
2K Sports has just released a fix for shot release timing in NBA 2K17. According to a tweet from game director Mike Wang, the hotfix relaxes the penalty for very late releases and contested shots. Thanks to this change, players should see more made baskets overall with the NBA 2K17 update.
NBA 2K17 Update Tweaks Shot Release
Wang says that this is a temporary solution to address the infamous shot meter glitch that has plagued the game since release. The real, concrete changes will come in a patch sometime in the near future.
“Tuning update (early 10/5): will ease penalties for Very Late Releases. This is a temp band-aid fix for Shot Meter Glitch til patch drops,” reads Wang’s tweet.
NBA 2K17 introduced a revamped shot meter that was drastically altered when players release shots. In previous entries, releasing the ball when the meter was half-filled was an indication of the correct timing. This year, releasing it at full-capacity is the proper method.
The shot meter glitch causes the meter to randomly drop from full to half momentarily. As you can imagine, this makes it incredibly difficult to gauge when to release your shot. Some players have found some temporary workarounds to alleviate some of the frustration. Reddit user Tycel suggests:
“What you are going to want to do is delete all your custom jumpshots, make 3 custom jumpshots, equip one in your inventory THEN go delete all your custom jumpshots and then put on a jumpshot that you want and immediately go to the park. It should be fixed.”
It isn’t a perfect solution, but it will have to do for now. Hopefully Wang and his team can roll out the NBA 2K17 update quickly to save players from any more hassle.
